This weekend we went to the LSU Alumni Association Annual Crawfish Boil, the largest crawfish boil west of the Mississippi River. Every year, over 15,000 pounds of crawfish are shipped from Louisiana to San Diego and cooked up on the spot. There is unlimited free beer until 2pm, a live Zydeco band and a huge box of spicy crawfish is dumped on a newsprint covered table. We go most years and stay with family in their lovely home, read and enjoy the beautiful view from their hot tub. Even though it's often overcast, this tradition makes it feel like summer (my favorite season) has begun.
